George Mason University Financial Aid

The Office of Student Financial Aid has information on student loans, loan deferments, application procedures, payment schedules, qualifications, scholarships, loan counseling, and more. Graduate

Discount for Virginia Educators

A 15% tuition and mandatory student fee discount is available for Virginia residents who are enrolled in a CEHD graduate program and are educators working in a public or non-public PreK-12 school located in Virginia.

Discount for Out-of-State CEHD Graduate Students

The out-of-state discount is approximately 40% off the university’s approved rate for out-of-state graduate students (please see https://studentaccounts.gmu.edu/tuition-fees for current rate information).

Special Education PhD Leadership Grants

The Kellar Institute for Human disAbilities (KIHd) supports doctoral students by providing multiple pathways and delivery formats and affordable access to programs for developing leadership skills in research, teaching, and service. KIHd is currently offering three doctoral leadership grants in special education. Click here for more details on funding opportunities.

Assistantships

Fellowships

Fellowships: Graduate fellowships are awards that provide support to masters and doctoral students for research, writing, fieldwork, language study, professional development, or independent projects undertaken in conjunction with a degree program.

Please refer to the Financial Aid office to determine if your program area can qualify for financial aid. If the Certificate you are interested in is not listed as federal aid eligible, please contact the Office of Financial Aid if you are interested in applying for an alternative loan to cover the cost of the program.
