The Mathematics Specialist Leadership program prepares graduates for leadership roles in the improvement of mathematics education at all levels in public and private schools, colleges, and universities.

The program places emphasis upon research and scholarly activity in the areas of mathematics learning, mathematics teacher learning, and curriculum reform.

The 30-credit math specialist leader K–8 master's concentration is a unique program for individuals who desire to become specialists in the teaching and leadership of school mathematics, focusing on both best practices in mathematics instruction and education leadership. The PhD specialization in mathematics education leadership focuses on issues in curriculum design and evaluation, the preparation and professional development of mathematics teachers, leadership in mathematics at all levels, and the design and evaluation of mathematics education research.
