ELED Ambassador Spotlight Questions

Gonzalo Leon
BSEd student

Where are you from?

I am half Peruvian and half Argentinian, I was born Silver Springs Maryland, but I grew up in Virginia for most of my life.

Why did you decide to become an elementary teacher?

I am lucky to have positive teachers and role models in my life, I want to bring that positive influence on the future generation.

What advice would you give to the students who are just starting the ELED program?

I think the biggest advice I can offer is to pace yourself and make sure you are organized and efficient. If you haven’t had practice using a planner/agenda, start now! Planners are extremely useful for keeping track of your classes and assignments.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I have a lot of hobbies such as crafting, concert-going, and movie watching. I love channeling my inner artist, and I make zines to share with both my friends and family. I will always say yes to going to the movies and any concerts. I am all for going out and having a fun time with everyone.
