C&D Faculty and Students Service Day - Cincinnati, Ohio

May 16, 2013

Counseling & Development faculty and students facilitated the joint AMCD (Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development) and CSJ (Counselors for Social Justice) Service Day during the American Counseling Association’s annual conference in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 21, 2013.

The annual Service Day is held prior to the start of the conference and provides an opportunity for conference attendees to engage in supporting the local community. This year, C&D faculty members Drs. Rachael Goodman and Joseph Williams helped coordinate the Service Day activities for approximately 30 volunteers from across the United States and abroad. Services were provided at three sites: Urban Appalachian Counsel and Santa Maria Community Services, Talbert House, and St. Leo’s Burundian Refugee Ministry. Dr. Adrienne Douglass, C&D faculty member, and C&D graduate students, Michelle Cantrell, Erin Lutz, and Mara Watts, participated in the Service Day activities at the Talbert House site.
