Online Program Information

Fall 2019 Cohort 100% Online Mathematics Specialist Program

Beginning in the fall of 2019, George Mason University is offering a fully-online cohort for the M.Ed in Mathematics Education Leadership. With a limited number of accepted students, you will graduate with a Master in Education Leadership with a concentration in Mathematics Specialist Leader (K-8) in December, 2021.

This six-semester program is appropriate for K-12 educators and will give you a strong background in mathematics content, instructional strategies, and school-based leadership. Throughout your coursework, you will develop skills to implement instructional changes, develop curriculum and better connect with students.

EDCI 666: Research in Mathematics Teaching (3 credit hours)
MATH 612: Probability and Statistics for K-8 Teachers (3 credit hours)

Summer 2020
MATH 611: Geometry and Measurement for K-8 Teachers (3 credit hours)

Fall 2020
EDCI 646: Mathematics Education Leadership for School Change (3 credit hours)
MATH 610: Number Systems and Number Theory for K-8 Teachers (3 credit hours)

Spring 2021
EDCI 644: Mathematics Learning and Assessment (K-8) (3 credit hours)
MATH 614: Rational Numbers and Proportional Reasoning for K-8 Teachers (3 credit hours)

Fall 2021
EDCI 702: Internship in Mathematics Education (3 credit hours)
