BSEd Special Education, Blindness and Visual Impairments PK–12 Licensure Concentration
Being a special education teacher is an opportunity to have a positive, lasting impact on the lives of children and youth with special needs—especially those with blindness and visual impairments, for whom there is a nationwide shortage of trained professionals.
This bachelor's degree concentration equips those who wish to work as special education teachers with the skills and content knowledge necessary to support the needs of individuals with blindness and visual impairments, including those who have multiple disabilities and diverse learner characteristics. Graduates are eligible for Virginia's initial teaching license in special education blindness and visual impairments PK–12.
