Division of Educational Psychology and Research Methods
Division of Educational Psychology and Research Methods is composed of (1) the Master's of Science (MS) in Educational Psychology, which offers four concentrations: Learning, Cognition, and Motivation; Assessment, Evaluation, and Testing; Learning and Decision-Making in Leadership; and Teacher Preparation; and (2) two doctoral specializations within the PhD in Education program, namely, Educational Psychology and Research Methods.
The division prepares graduates to become educational leaders, researchers, curriculum specialists, evaluators, and testing and measurement specialists; and faculty teaching in K-12, community college, and university settings. Course work and experiential learning opportunities also make our graduates highly competitive for continuing their studies at the doctoral level.
The division comprises highly committed faculty to their respective fields who are nationally and internationally renowned scholars in scientific areas such as learning, cognition, and motivation; measurement, evaluation, and assessment; qualitative and quantitative methods; and design research. Faculty are also affiliated with many other divisions within CEHD and other colleges on campus, working on various interdisciplinary projects on learning, motivation, teaching, student achievement, and contemporary research. The faculty exhibits high visibility in leadership roles in professional associations and other external organizations.
