Content Area Review Requirements
Content Area Review Form for
Foreign Language
Prospective applicants seeking admission to the M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction, Foreign Language in Arabic, Korean, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, or Spanish concentrations should use this form to demonstrate language proficiency using one of the options below. Prospective applicants seeking admission to the Latin concentration can only use Option 1: Content Proficiency.
Option 1: Content Proficiency: 30 credits required at the 300- and 400-level in the areas listed below, with at least one course in each area. Only courses with satisfactory grades (A or B at graduate level; A, B, or C at undergraduate level) will be accepted.
Option 2: Native Level Proficiency: Prospective applicants with native-speaker level proficiency may take the ACTFL OPI and WPT exams and achieve a score of at least Advanced Low on each section AND document at least six credits of study at the 300-400 level in the target language (only available to prospective applicants seeking admission to the Arabic, Korean, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, or Spanish concentrations.)

- Six credits of study in the target language and 300-400 level
(only grades of A or B at graduate level; A, B, or C at undergraduate level)
