English as a Second Language

Only courses taken for a letter grade are acceptable, not courses taken as Pass-Fail.
Candidates must complete six credits (two courses, in semester hours) of a modern foreign language, 100-level or higher. The six credits can be in the same language or be completed in two different languages.
*Students who have earned a degree from any US institution or from a country for which English is the primary language must have 6 credits of a foreign language, even if the student’s native language is NOT English.
*Students who have earned a degree from outside the US must complete 6 credits of English coursework. This coursework cannot be ESL courses; they must be equivalent to college-level ENGH coursework in the US.
