Music Education

Only courses taken for a letter grade are acceptable, not courses taken as Pass-Fail.
*If you hold a current, VDOE-issued Provisional License and are interested in completing a State-approved program, complete the form below. If you only need to satisfy specific VDOE-cited course deficiencies, please contact Dr. Tina Beveridge (tbeverid@gmu.edu).

Basic Music Knowledge (18 credits)

  • Music Theory
  • Aural Skills
  • Music History and Literature

Musical Performance (16 credits)

  • Applied Lessons
    (for vocal choral students, credits can be in either voice or piano with a minimum of 2 credits in voice)
  • Musical Ensemble
  • Keyboarding
  • Conducting

Total Credits: 34
